Role Overview
School Accountant at Aldar Education, Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role supports the financial operations of schools within the Aldar Education group, serving as the key finance point of contact for school-level accounting and reporting.

Role Purpose
To perform all finance-related activities assigned to schools, including budget preparation and control, accurate and timely book closing, financial reporting, and serving as the finance point of contact for all school financial operations matters.
Key Responsibilities
Budget & Financial Planning
- Provide necessary support to prepare annual school budget along with details regarding school expenses in coordination with school and HQ Finance team.
- Review and approve Purchase Requisitions for budget availability and budget codes.
Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
- Process supplier payments via 3-way matching (Invoice, PO & GRN) on time with proper due diligence checks and validation.
- Ensure supplier accounts are reconciled and highlighted to the respective departments for any unreconciled transactions for further action.
- Handle exceptional queries from parents and resolve them appropriately and on a timely manner.
Cash & Asset Management
- Manage petty cash as per policy to meet business requirements.
- Manage month end closing activities accurately and on a timely manner.
- Asset creation, depreciation run and closing of FA module on monthly basis.
Reporting & Financial Statements
- Prepare monthly MIS report and review with Assistant Finance Manager.
- Circulate and present monthly MIS to Principal and OSM for decision making.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules and review with Assistant Finance Manager.
- Prepare bank reconciliation statement and review with AFM and submit to AE Group Finance Treasury team.
- Ensure P&L and balance sheet accounts are accurate by clearing all unreconciled balances.
Audit & Compliance
- Support with internal and external audit by providing audit LOR.
- Responsible to meet adhoc reporting requirements from internal departments and HQ.
Continuous Improvement
- Initiate process improvement wherever possible to achieve school finance excellence.
- Support other schools in absence of School Accountant.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance function or a professional qualification.
- Accounting certifications are a plus (CPA, CA, CMA, CFA, etc.).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of advanced accounting principles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle, SAP, etc.).
