ROCKWORK FOREMAN

Role Overview

Rockwork Foreman at NMDC Group. The role involves supervising and coordinating all rockwork activities on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.

Role Purpose

Lead a team of skilled workers managing daily rockwork operations, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while monitoring production, equipment efficiency, and project progress.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

• Monitor actual operator and equipment production for each type of work.
• Monitor actual machine hours and fuel consumption.
• Decide the right equipment for each type of work.
• Understand rock gradation and specification.
• Understand GPS or bucket positioning system.
• Understand barge loading and offloading of rocks.
• Determine forecast activities and plan accordingly.

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead a team and produce good workmanship.
• Manage personnel with different cultural backgrounds.
• Motivate and inspire colleagues to develop knowledge, skills and competencies.
• Provide objective and constructive feedback in an appropriate way.
• Show respect, flexibility and loyalty towards colleagues throughout the organization.

Planning & Coordination

• Assist the Rockworks Supervisor in manpower distribution.
• Take ownership of own objectives agreed upon and of the objectives of the division.
• Stimulate a result-oriented organizational culture by regularly sharing the division's performance and results.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Identify hazards.
• Obtain information from HSE Department.
• Make recommendations to HSE Department.
• Investigate incidents.
• Determine future problems in an early stage.

Reporting & Communication

• Read construction drawings and plans.
• Write daily progress report.
• Communicate clearly and succinctly orally and in writing.
• Adapt oral and written communication style to the audience.

Stakeholder Management

• Proactively serve and constructively respond to external client needs in order to meet business priorities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Secondary School Certificate with discipline specific technical certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in rockwork and similar industry.
