Role Overview

Risk & Underwriting Senior Analyst at Cigna, based in Dubai. This role joins the Middle East Underwriting team within Cigna Global Healthcare Benefits as the organization continues to expand its presence and expertise across the region.

Role Purpose

Analyze market conditions and develop pricing strategies for group healthcare products by identifying financial risks, building detailed understanding of the Middle East business, and collaborating across departments to create innovative analytical tools that enable profitability growth while meeting client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing & Financial Analysis

• Develop and maintain complex pricing models used by international group underwriters.
• Evaluate, price and modify plan design for renewals and new business on Large Corporate quotations in compliance with underwriting authorities.
• Manage portfolio of accounts balancing profitability and revenue.
• Streamline financial metrics reports prepared by underwriting team.

Market & Trend Analysis

• Analyze results looking for trends and patterns that may require changes to benefits currently and into the future.
• Be market aware; understand the competition, the environment and the client's needs.

Stakeholder Management & Client Support

• Collaborate with relevant client managers and brokers to ensure clients' expectations on product and pricing are met.
• Work with sales and client management to improve their knowledge of the technical aspects of the business.
• Provide concise and clear instructions on what is happening to a risk and provide options to manage costs into the future.
• Work with sales and the client to implement changes resulting from trend analysis.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• 3–5 years of insurance experience in finance, underwriting, actuarial or data analytics functions.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Science or similar discipline.

Skills & Competencies

Technical

• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to query large data sets using SQL.
• Exposure to tools such as Power BI is preferable.
• Process improvement and Excel modeling/reporting skills.

Professional & Personal

• High level of numeracy and accuracy.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to take ownership and time management.
• Able to manage stakeholder expectations and deliver under pressure.
