Risk Manager

Role Overview

Risk Manager at HanmiGlobal Saudi. The role is based in Saudi Arabia and seeks a Lead Specialist in Projects Risk Management to identify, assess, and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle, minimizing potential impacts on project objectives and outcomes.

Role Purpose

Provide leadership and management of risk management processes across the program and projects, ensuring consistency and efficiency of delivery by integrating risk management practices throughout all phases and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Assessment & Strategy

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across projects, identifying potential risks, their implications, and opportunities.
• Develop cost-effective mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Develop detailed Risk Management Plan, risk register, project risk reports, dashboards, and executive updates for senior management and all stakeholders.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified risks.
• Facilitate risk workshops to identify emerging risks, evaluate risk controls, and develop contingency plans as needed.

Risk Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor and review project risks regularly, updating risk registers and tracking risk treatment actions.
• Communicate risk status and trends to senior management and stakeholders.
• Evaluate and quantify risks using quantitative techniques such as Monte Carlo simulations.
• Give recommendations and monitor risk mitigation and contingency strategies to reduce impact on project cost, time, and quality.
• Calculate risk allowances and contingency through quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis.

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure that risk management practices comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with international risk management standards, such as ISO 31000.
• Liaise with Government agencies and regulatory authorities and project stakeholders to ensure alignment of risk management practices and requirements with project objectives and contractual obligations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Support

• Provide risk management guidance and support to project Directors, Senior managers, and other stakeholders.
• Provide training, coaching, and facilitation of risk workshops and risk review meetings.
• Promote a risk-aware culture through training, coaching, and mentorship.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management processes, tools, and systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance risk awareness and effectiveness.

Coordination & Decision Support

• Coordinate with Planning, Project Control, and Cost department for allocation and management of risk allowances and contingency within baselines.
• Ensure schedule adherence and cost efficiency across all project phases.
• Support decision-making on technical, financial, and operational risks.
• Provide outreach oversight to the risk management program and projects activities concerning day-to-day performance of the work scope.

General Duties

• Perform other duties as requested by Senior Risk Manager and Management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 15 years of experience in risk management within relevant project scopes, including construction, infrastructure, or mega projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Risk Management, or related field.
• Proven experience working on large-scale or complex developments.
• Professional certifications such as PMP-RMP or ISO 31000.
• Saudi nationals are preferred.
