Role Overview

Repair and Maintenance Technician - LWD I at Weatherford UAE. This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for fresh graduates or early-career professionals looking to build technical expertise in drilling technologies.

Role Purpose

Support the repair, maintenance, assembly, testing, and calibration of Logging While Drilling (LWD) tools and equipment. The role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Repair and Testing

• Perform Level I repairs, inspections, and function testing on LWD downhole tools and equipment, including drivers, pulsers, batteries, gamma tools, BAPs, IDSs, interconnects, flow diverters, MFRs, NDTs, and collars.
• Conduct pulser wet tests, main valve replacements, and tip/orifice replacements.
• Perform gamma verifications and calibrations, IDS check stand roll tests, neutron density calibrations, and MFR air hangs.

Assembly and Disassembly

• Assemble and disassemble LWD tool strings and perform tool programming and function testing.
• Assemble and disassemble lithium batteries.

Documentation and Records

• Complete service records, maintenance documentation, and ensure accurate electronic and hard-copy filing.
• Support failure analysis activities and update records within reliability databases, including completion of work orders and technical reports.

Operations and Safety

• Maintain workshop equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
• Follow all quality, health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures and policies.
• Assist team members and support workshop operations as required.

Knowledge Sharing

• Mentor trainees when requested and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Additional Duties

• Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor within the scope of the role.

Qualifications & Experience

• Fresh graduate with a diploma in engineering or any related field.
• Recent graduates with a strong interest in mechanical, electrical, or drilling technologies are encouraged to apply.
• Basic technical knowledge gained through academic studies, internships, projects, or laboratory work is advantageous.
