Registered Nurse - Homecare

Role Overview

Registered Nurse - Homecare at NMC Healthcare. This role provides direct patient care to both adult and paediatric patients in a home care setting, delivering clinical practice and evidence-based nursing care from admission through discharge.

Role Purpose

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions, and evaluations to patients across all age groups in the home care environment. Act as a responsible and accountable professional recognized by the Department of Health, ensuring quality care appropriate to patient age and clinical needs.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment & Monitoring

• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting abnormal values to treating physicians.
• Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, and problems for reporting to supervisors, case managers, or medical doctors.
• Report and record medical events, procedures, and other medical parameters.

Patient Care & Interventions

• Administer prescribed medications.
• Monitor intravenous infusions and parenteral therapies.
• Care for patients with tracheostomy, gastrostomy, and colostomy.
• Carry out nursing care for patients with pacemakers, peritoneal dialysis, and patients on ventilators.
• Deliver nursing care to patients with hemiplegia, paraplegia, Bell's palsy, cerebral palsy, terminal illness, and elderly patients.
• Care for newborns, pre- and post-partum mothers.
• Care for physically challenged patients and those requiring special care at home or in educational facilities.
• Care for patient wounds to prevent exacerbation of pressure ulcers.
• Deliver simple exercises, assist with ambulation, and accompany patients to social gatherings, hospitals, treatment facilities, and outdoor activities.

Communication & Coordination

• Prepare clinical and progress notes.
• Coordinate services and work as liaison between treating physician and other personnel regarding changes in the client's condition and family members.
• Counsel clients and families in meeting nursing and related needs.

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise and teach other nursing personnel.
• Participate in in-service programs.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing in home country.
• Active Basic Life Support training.
• Current valid registration in country of training and/or country of last employment.
• Eligible for DOH / DHA / MOH licensing.

Essential Certifications

• Critical care qualification.
• Pediatric qualification (for pediatrics RN).
• ACLS (for adult patients).
• PALS (for pediatric patients).

Experience

• 2 to 5 years working experience as a Registered Nurse.
