Radio Room Operator

Role Overview

Radio Room Operator at GAC, based in Fujairah.

Role Purpose

Coordinate vessel communications, crew and supply logistics, and port operations from the radio room, ensuring timely information flow to all stakeholders and seamless cargo and personnel movement in and out of port.

Key Responsibilities

Vessel & Crew Coordination

• Coordinate crew and supply boat operations upon receipt of checklists from Persons in Charge.
• Update vessel requirements and movements to boarding representatives to facilitate timely attendance on board.
• Arrange crew and personnel transportation as per request from Person in Charge, prioritizing use of own transport.

Operations Monitoring & Communications

• Monitor communications and cover operations, especially after office hours and during holidays or absence of the Person in Charge.
• Assist in monitoring communications to ensure continuity of coverage.
• Provide cargo operations updates to concerned parties, especially during absence of the respective handler due to out-of-office hours, holidays, or other unavailability.

Reporting & Documentation

• Update daily boat log sheets and distribute them to coordinators.
• Update list of tanker vessel calls twice daily (preferably at noon and midnight) using AIS live and other available sources.

Issue Management & Communication

• Deliver timely and accurate response and coordination for queries with clear communication.
• Immediately escalate issues to the respective Person in Charge, boarding officer, or manager.
• Take proactive and effective measures to reduce operational errors and miscommunication.

Administrative Support

• Process Fujairah port entry pass for clients, visitors, and personnel.
• Provide timely and appropriate action on queries and coordination requests.
