QC Engineer

Role Overview

QC Engineer at Matar Al Baqmi Holding Company. The role is based on-site for residential construction projects.

Role Purpose

The QC Engineer ensures that all construction activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on monitoring site works, conducting inspections, reviewing materials, and maintaining accurate quality documentation to support the successful delivery of residential construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control Planning & Documentation

• Develop, implement, and maintain the project's Quality Control Plan.
• Prepare detailed daily and weekly QC reports, including site observations, NCRs, and corrective actions.
• Maintain proper documentation of inspections, test results, and material approvals.

Inspections & Compliance Monitoring

• Conduct daily inspections of structural and finishing works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and project specifications.
• Monitor workmanship quality and verify that all activities meet building codes, construction standards, and client requirements.
• Ensure all materials delivered to site comply with approved material submittals.

Materials & Testing Oversight

• Review and approve construction drawings, materials, and method statements before execution.
• Oversee materials testing, including concrete tests, finishing materials, and soil tests, and ensure results meet required standards.
• Ability to review and approve construction drawings, materials, and technical documents.

Stakeholder Coordination & Issue Resolution

• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and supervisors to resolve any quality-related issues.
• Assist in internal and external quality audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality processes and site operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in residential construction projects, including structural and finishing works.
• Previous experience in a real estate development company or a construction company.
• Proven experience in preparing and implementing Quality Control Plans.
• Solid background in materials testing, including concrete and finishing works.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and project specifications.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong reporting skills with experience preparing daily and weekly QC reports.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Ability to review and approve construction drawings, materials, and technical documents.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
