Role Purpose

To secure new data center projects by leading cross-functional proposal teams through the complete bid lifecycle, from qualification to award, while maintaining technical excellence and commercial rigor.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Leadership & Management

• Lead proposal teams across engineering, procurement, finance and operations.
• Manage full bid lifecycle from qualification to award.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of data center systems and interfaces.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across AtkinsRéalis to collect and consolidate design information, technical inputs, and project requirements.
• Ensure all scope elements are captured and accurately incorporated into the proposal, risk assessment, and pricing model.
• Coordinate conceptual designs, technical narratives, compliance matrices, and value-engineering proposals.
• Manage proposal quality standards and ensure adherence to company QMS procedures.

Commercial & Pricing Management

• Manage pricing, contingencies assessments and compliance requirements.
• Develop pricing strategies, cost models, and financial evaluations.
• Optimize solutions while maintaining resilience, performance, and compliance through value engineering.

Technical & Compliance Review

• Review RFPs, specifications and contracts.
• Understand tender conditions, contracts, compliance requirements, and risk allocation.
• Evaluate technical, commercial, and operational risks.

Stakeholder & Partner Coordination

• Support client clarifications and negotiations.
• Coordinate with OEMs and technology partners to obtain technical support, budgets, pricing, and solution validation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, OEMs, and internal teams.
• Deliver compelling client presentations and executive reviews.

Knowledge & Development

• Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, sustainability initiatives, AI-ready facilities, modular data centres, and liquid cooling technologies.
• Mentor and develop proposal personnel.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years relevant experience.
• 5+ years data center experience.
• Strong data center proposal and business development experience.
• Leadership of multidisciplinary proposal teams.
• Technical and commercial understanding of critical infrastructure.

Skills & Competencies

• Proposal Management: Managing complex proposals from qualification to award.
• Data Centre Technical Knowledge: Understanding of critical power, cooling, ICT, security, fire protection, BMS, and DCIM systems.
• Commercial Acumen: Ability to develop pricing strategies, cost models, and financial evaluations.
• Contractual Knowledge: Understanding of tender conditions, contracts, compliance requirements, and risk allocation.
• Value Engineering: Optimizing solutions while maintaining resilience, performance, and compliance.
• Leadership & Team Development: Managing, mentoring, and developing proposal personnel.
• Stakeholder Management: Strong communication with clients, consultants, OEMs, and internal teams.
• Negotiation Skills: Supporting commercial discussions and contract negotiations.
• Analytical Skills: Evaluating technical, commercial, and operational risks.
• Presentation Skills: Delivering compelling client presentations and executive reviews.
• Ability to manage multiple high-value bids and strategic opportunities simultaneously.
