Role Overview
Projects Technician Electrical at Aggreko. This is a full-time position based in Oman, focused on the advanced commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of gas generator sets, with a strong emphasis on Jenbacher engines.

Role Purpose
Deliver exceptional technical expertise in the commissioning, maintenance, and repair of gas power generation equipment. Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety of Aggreko's generator sets and electrical systems, contributing directly to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning and Decommissioning
- Lead the commissioning and decommissioning of gas power generation equipment at customer sites.
Technical Diagnostics and Repair
- Perform complex diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on gas generator sets, specializing in Jenbacher engines.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of electrical and control systems at low voltage and high voltage.
- Utilize specialized tools and diagnostic software to identify and resolve technical issues.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Aggreko's safety policies and industry standards.
Inventory and Documentation
- Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and reports on all maintenance activities.
- Manage spare parts inventory and requisitions effectively.
Collaboration and Support
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced technicians.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project management teams to deliver seamless service solutions.
Continuous Learning
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with new technologies and equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) as an Electrical Technician, specifically with power generation equipment.
- Proven primary experience with Jenbacher gas engines, or extensive experience with other large-scale gas generator engines (e.g., Waukesha, Caterpillar, MTU, Rolls-Royce, etc.).
- Associate's Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Experience with Aggreko-specific equipment and systems (preferred).
- Experience in a field service role (preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of gas engine electrical systems, transformers, and other HV equipment.
- Proficient in using specialized diagnostic tools and software for engine analysis and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various weather conditions, and perform duties in challenging industrial environments.
- Ability to travel frequently, often on short notice, to various customer sites.
Certifications
- FTB (Field Technician Basic) Certification (mandatory).
- CE1 (Commissioning Engineer 1) Certification (mandatory).
- CE2 Certification (preferred).
