Role Overview

Produced Water Treatment Technology Specialist (IGF, NSF & Hydrocyclone) at NOV.

Role Purpose

Deliver technical specialist expertise in produced water treatment technology to regional projects, tenders, and technology development initiatives, while building capability across the organization and ensuring commercially competitive, fit-for-purpose solutions that protect NOV from unacceptable liability risk.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Specialist Knowledge

• Develop and maintain specialist knowledge on assigned discipline.
• Recognize problems and discrepancies in work processes and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain strong knowledge of competitor technology and execution approaches for assigned technology.
• Maintain strong knowledge of industry standards for assigned discipline.

Product & Solution Development

• Together with APT Manager develop products and solutions that align with local and international market needs.
• Provide proactive input and recommendations for product line development to APT Manager.
• Execute feasibility studies, conceptual design, process studies, or provide input to these for assigned discipline.

Tender & Commercial Delivery

• Support Business Development in client meetings as required.
• Together with Tender team develop competitive commercial technical offers using fit-for-purpose technology that does not place unacceptable liability risk on NOV.
• Provide leadership, oversee, coordinate and review the work of indirect subordinates to deliver winning tenders.
• Working with the tender team and application engineers, devise solutions using experience and precedent to create unique selling propositions.
• Ensure tenders are cost-focused and developed in the most attractive manner for clients.
• Manage communication towards clients and participate in tender negotiations based on approved mandate.
• After tender completion, ensure lessons learned are captured and shared with the Tender Group.
• When tenders are won, ensure proper handover to execution team in accordance with Company procedures.

Project Delivery & Response

• Provide time-efficient and quality responses to clients and P&L centers in commercial projects.
• Provide time-efficient and quality responses to technology development projects.
• Offer technical specialist knowledge for assigned discipline to regional P&L center projects and tenders.

Training & Knowledge Transfer

• Develop material to train regional engineers in discipline.
• Inspire and influence others, share knowledge and teach colleagues.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
• Experience in Separation AND Produced Water Projects for Middle East.
• Experience with Process Simulation tools such as HYSYS, UNSIM, Flaresim.
• Troubleshooting experience.
• Participation in and close-out of HAZOP and SIL studies.
• Deep knowledge of technology.
• Professional writing skills in English.
• Autonomy.

Desirable

• Multilingual capability (English and Arabic, Spanish, Mandarin, French, Russian, Portuguese, or others).
• Deep knowledge of commercial aspects, market and competitors.
