Private Subject Teacher

Role Overview

Star is seeking an experienced Private Subject Teacher to provide personalised, one-to-one academic tuition to students across secondary and advanced academic levels in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Deliver structured, high-quality individualised instruction in a specialist subject, aligned with the student's school curriculum, academic objectives, and examination requirements within a private family environment.

Key Responsibilities

Tuition Delivery

• Plan and deliver high-quality one-to-one tuition in your specialist subject.
• Align tuition with the student's curriculum, academic level, and examination requirements.
• Explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
• Tailor tuition to the individual student's learning style and academic profile.

Assessment & Progress

• Assess the student's current performance and identify areas requiring additional support.
• Monitor academic progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Strengthen subject knowledge and address gaps in understanding.

Academic Support

• Support homework, coursework, assignments, and school assessments.
• Prepare the student for relevant external examinations.
• Develop effective revision, examination, and independent study techniques.
• Prepare tailored learning materials, exercises, and extension activities.
• Challenge the student appropriately to support strong academic outcomes.

Student Development

• Build confidence, motivation, and independence.
• Maintain a structured, positive, and encouraging learning environment.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Communicate professionally with the family regarding academic progress and priorities.
• Coordinate with the student's school or other educators where required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in your specialist subject or a closely related discipline.
• Recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent credential.
• Several years of relevant teaching or private tutoring experience.
• Experience teaching at secondary and/or advanced academic levels.
• Experience teaching recognised international curricula.
• Experience preparing students for external examinations.
• Knowledge of recognised examination boards.
• Familiarity with relevant examination specifications and assessment requirements.
• Strong record of supporting positive academic outcomes.
• Positive and verifiable professional references.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent knowledge of your specialist subject.
• Strong understanding of the British curriculum or another recognised international curriculum.
• Patient, engaging, and academically rigorous teaching approach.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional maturity, discretion, and sound judgement.
• Confidence working independently within a private household.

Additional Information

Working Arrangements

• Part-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
• Teaching hours arranged primarily around the student's school timetable and academic commitments.
• Flexible scheduling to adapt according to academic priorities.
• Additional support may be required during examination periods, revision periods, school holidays, or other important stages of the academic year.
• Exact working days and hours will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
• Start date: Immediately.

Travel & Confidentiality

• Occasional domestic or international travel may be required to maintain continuity of the student's education.
• Maintain complete confidentiality and discretion regarding the student, family, household, schedules, travel arrangements, and any other private information.
• Do not disclose, publish, photograph, record, or share confidential information without prior permission.
