Role Overview
Principal Engineer, Solutions Architecture at Dell Technologies. This role is part of the Solutions Architecture team within Professional Services, focused on architecting and delivering enterprise IT solutions across targeted industry segments.

Role Purpose
As a Principal Engineer, you will lead high-impact initiatives centered on Dell storage solutions—including Dell PowerScale and ObjectScale—owning end-to-end architectures and complex integration strategies across enterprise and AI-driven environments. You will prototype solutions, validate design patterns, drive ecosystem integrations and data management tools, and ensure non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, resilience, and security are met at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Create architectural designs and implementation plans for Dell PowerScale and ObjectScale deployments, emphasizing AI and data-intensive workloads.
- Document reusable design standards and reference architectures for block, file, and object storage.
Migrations & Integrations
- Lead data migrations using native Dell and third-party tooling.
- Integrate Dell storage with analytics, AI, and cloud-native platforms.
Installation & Customization
- Oversee installation, customization, and integration of PowerScale and ObjectScale across diverse customer environments.
Validation & Performance
- Conduct design reviews, proofs of concept, and performance benchmarking to validate PowerScale and ObjectScale architectures against customer requirements.
Mentoring & Standards
- Mentor engineers in advanced design and delivery excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise storage architecture, design, and delivery.
- Proven track record in the delivery of complex storage design architectures, large-scale integrations, and data migrations across heterogeneous environments.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing Dell storage solutions in AI/ML, analytics, and high-performance computing projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (desirable).
- Dell Technologies Proven Professional certification in Storage Design and Implementation, including PowerScale, ObjectScale, and related tracks (desirable).
