Post Fixture Operator

Role Overview

Post Fixture Operator at Ejqa. This role manages post-fixture vessel operations and commercial coordination for tanker vessels, ensuring smooth execution of charter-party requirements from pre-fixture through voyage completion.

Role Purpose

Coordinate all aspects of tanker vessel operations and commercial management following fixture, including stakeholder liaison, cargo and voyage documentation, performance monitoring, and dispute resolution to ensure charter-party compliance and successful voyage completion.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Fixture & Vessel Clearance

• Support pre-fixture activities and timely completion of required questionnaires.
• Coordinate vessel clearance-related matters.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaise with charterers on cargo and vessel preparation requirements.
• Appoint agents and liaise with charterers, ship's agents, and all concerned parties.
• Communicate main charter-party terms to the Master.
• Monitor, discuss, and review charterer's instructions to the Master.

Commercial Operations

• Arrange bunkers, port funds, and all necessities required under the charter-party.
• Prepare laytime calculations and hire statements.
• Raise freight invoices and hire invoices.
• Assist in commercial contracts and tendering.

Vessel Performance & Cargo Management

• Monitor vessel cargo operations, speed, and consumption performance.
• Arrange and coordinate pre-loading surveys with respective P&I clubs.

Claims & Disputes

• Assist in handling FD&D claims, speed claims, and other disputes with charterers.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain proper filing for the Chartering & Operations Department.
• Maintain records of all correspondence on commercial matters such as voyage instructions and payment.
• Maintain vessel position lists.
• Record keeping of all voyages and documents.
• Follow specified systems, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and other requirements and standards.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in shipping, logistics, or maritime.
• 3–5 years of experience as a post-fixture operative on tankers with voyage planning, or 5 years of sailing experience on tankers with good commercial skills.
• Shipping industry experience.
• Middle East experience preferred.
