Role Overview
Patrolman position with Emarat (Emirates General Petroleum), Natural Gas Business Management department, reporting to the Engineer - Pipeline & Integrity.

Role Purpose
Patrol pipeline routes through deserts, mountains, towns, and roadways to monitor and report encroachments or unauthorized and hazardous work performed on or near pipeline rights of way, ensuring pipeline integrity and operational safety.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Patrolling
- Check pipeline routes through deserts, mountains, towns, and roadways for encroachments or unauthorized or hazardous work.
- Report encroachments or hazardous activities to the supervisor for necessary action.
- Record activities and incidents occurring on pipeline routes and complete the pipeline weekly patrolling programme report.
- Stop third-party work if instructed by the supervisor when infringement on Emarat equipment or pipelines could occur.
- Conduct site visits with third-party contractors to gather information on site activities and report findings to the engineer or supervisor.
Transportation
- Drive a light vehicle daily for routine patrolling activities along the pipeline route.
- Operate truck with crane for lifting valves, pipes, cable drums, concrete blocks, and various materials to and from stores, stations, and assigned areas.
Pipeline Maintenance
- Excavate and backfill pipelines, valves, and communication cables.
- Inspect pipe coatings for holidays and cracks using a holiday detector.
- Perform coating rehabilitation of carbon steel pipelines, including surface preparation, cleaning, and wrapping.
Health & Safety
- Maintain safe work processes, operating procedures, and guidelines to ensure process safety, operational safety, and pipeline integrity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of school education (12 years).
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the pipeline industry, pipeline maintenance, or operations.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in civil works such as excavation and concrete works.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas Distribution Industry preferred.
- Basic knowledge in mechanical jobs.
Skills & Competencies
- Able to speak and write in English.
- Valid UAE driving licence.
- Off-road (desert and mountain) driving skills.
- Valid Heavy Goods Vehicle driving licence (preferred).
