Role Overview
P-Staff Solutions Engineer (Dubai) at Kong. This position supports Enterprise & Strategic accounts within the UAE region as part of the Sales organization.

Role Purpose
As a Solutions Engineer, you will play an instrumental role in Kong's continued growth by aligning with the Account Executive team and leading the technical sale cycle with both new and existing customers. You will drive new business while learning and evangelizing Kong's cutting-edge technology.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Support & Client Relationships
- Support field sales in helping customers understand the value of Kong API Management & Connectivity solutions.
- Grow trusted client relationships throughout the entire sales lifecycle from initial discovery and requirement gathering, to product reviews and demos, and into production.
- Support proof-of-concepts throughout the entire evaluation process.
Customer Success & Onboarding
- Onboard and train new customers and establish revenue potential with existing customers.
- Coordinate with support, product, and engineering teams to prioritize customer needs and ensure 100% satisfaction across assigned set of accounts.
Technical Documentation & Delivery
- Create technical documentation for DevOps, implementations, and services engagements.
Lead Generation & Marketing
- Participate in creative lead generating activities such as creating blog posts, leading webinars, and working industry events.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform any additional tasks required by manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7+ years of pre-sales Solution Engineering or relevant experience at a SaaS, Open-source or Enterprise Software company.
- Experience working with Open-source technology.
- Foundational knowledge and understanding of API Management & Integration, Cloud computing trends, and Open-source business models.
Skills & Competencies
- Confident ability to present and lead discussions with C or Director level executives as well as Product Managers and Engineers.
- Enthusiasm for working in a high-profile, fast-paced startup culture.
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of NGINX, HTTP, AWS, Postgres, and/or Cassandra (preferred).
- Fluency working on Linux operating systems (preferred).
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipeline (preferred).
- Previous experience with API Gateway or Service Mesh (preferred).
- Knowledge of DCOS/Mesos and Docker Swarm (preferred).
