Job description
Role Overview
Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) Registrar position at Nahdi Care Clinics. The role is based on-site with a six-day working week and eight net working hours per shift as approved by the head of department.
Role Purpose
Provide clinical care to patients in the Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) department by diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses, examining patients, taking medical histories, prescribing medications, and ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment & Diagnosis
- Assess patients and document findings.
- Examine patients and take medical histories.
- Order and review results of patients' investigations.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests.
Treatment & Medication Management
- Design and execute the patient's plan of care.
- Prescribe medications for patients.
- Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare related to their individual cases.
Patient Education
- Educate patients on their health condition, investigations required, treatment options and medication use.
- Educate patients on health promotion and disease prevention.
- Integrate the population factors of heritage, environment, and disease prevalence into a patient's care.
Compliance & Governance
- Fulfill obligations related to patient records.
- Adhere to all Nahdi Care Clinics policies and procedures, bylaws, strategic plan, rules and regulations.
- Adhere to the mission, vision, goals and practice guidelines in Nahdi Care Clinics.
- Adhere to CBAHI standards of care.
- Comply with clinical and departmental structure standards, including attendance.
- Complete fire safety requirements.
- Perform duties based on specific privileges aligned with training, experience, skills and Saudi health council guidelines.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and program evaluation activities.
- Observe measures to ensure clinical, MOH and CBAHI quality standards and regulations are met.
- Participate in continuous professional development of all junior staff.
- Maintain evidence-based practice orientation.
Professional Engagement
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other departments of Nahdi Care Clinics, local agencies, vendors, patients, their families and other interested parties.
- Actively participate in all Nahdi Care Clinics committees and task forces assigned.
- Develop, participate in and support an active continuing medical education program for the section, department or clinical area assigned by the chairman, which may include rounds, conferences, lectures, journal clubs and other educational activities.
General Duties
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from a recognized university.
- Master's degree in related specialty from a recognized university, or fellowship with SCFHS approval.
Experience
- Two years of clinical experience following Master's degree, or eligible to sit the board examination in the specialty.
Licensure
- Licensed as Registrar in related specialty from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Skills & Competencies
- Office and health information systems.
- English and Arabic, fluent in speaking and writing.
Additional Information
- Work environment: 100% indoors.
- Working schedule: Six working days per week, one day off.
- Working hours: Eight net working hours according to shift schedule approved by head of department.
