OPERATOR

Role Overview

Operator at Napco National. The role is based on-site and focuses on the safe and efficient operation of blown film extrusion machinery while maintaining quality standards and waste minimization.

Role Purpose

Operate blown film extrusion lines safely and efficiently, maintaining product quality and conformity with finished goods specifications while ensuring proper machine maintenance, raw material handling, and compliance with safety and environmental protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Machine Management

• Set the machine properly and perform size changes.
• Run the machine safely and efficiently while maintaining a low average of waste and producing the best quality reachable outcome.
• Verbally inform the Lead Operator and the Line Setter of any problem that occurs on the machine.

Quality Assurance

• Facilitate the work of the Quality Inspector and ensure the conformity of product requirements with standard finished goods specs.
• Monitor extrusion process parameters including temperature, pressure, output, bubble stability, thickness variation, film width, winding and common film defects.

Production Documentation & Reporting

• Fill in the daily production report and submit it to the Production Team Leader.

Housekeeping & Organization

• Ensure proper cleaning of the line during the shift and month close.
• Make sure all finished goods pallets, waste bin, waste trolley and raw material are in their dedicated place.

Raw Material Management

• Ensure the proper handling of raw material received-returned and from-to Raw Material warehouse.

Safety & Compliance

• Comply with and follow safety and environmental instructions and participate in toolbox talks given by the HSE officer.
• Participate at all applicable levels and functions including the development, planning, implementation, performance evaluation and actions for improvement of the OH&S management system.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in blown film extrusion, preferably in PE films using LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE.
• Experience operating mono-layer and/or multi-layer blown film extrusion lines, preferably on machines such as Kiefel, W&H, Alpine, Bandera or similar.
• Technical diploma or relevant industrial background.

Skills & Competencies

• Good knowledge of extrusion process parameters and troubleshooting, including temperature, pressure, output, bubble stability, thickness variation, film width, winding and common film defects.
• Basic knowledge of raw materials and blending, including PE resin grades, masterbatch and additives, and their impact on processability and film quality.
• Good awareness of safety, quality requirements, SOPs and basic production documentation.
