Operational Buyer

Role Overview

Operational Buyer at Hitachi Energy L.L.C, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Full-time position.

Role Purpose

To ensure customer satisfaction through effective project management and delivery of results from order entry to project commissioning, enabling repeatable customer business and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Operations

• Contribute to successful execution of procurement operations by ensuring accurate and compliant processing of purchase requisitions.
• Enable timely conversion of purchase requisitions into purchase orders aligned with business requirements and corporate policies.
• Support a robust and efficient Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process through diligent validation and data accuracy.

Supplier Management & Material Availability

• Secure material availability by proactively managing purchase orders and closely collaborating with suppliers.
• Ensure alignment with production schedules and project requirements.
• Focus on on-time delivery and adherence to agreed supplier terms.
• Contribute to supplier performance management and risk mitigation by leveraging digital tools such as SAP and SAP Ariba.
• Support vendor evaluation and engagement with qualified and approved suppliers in line with company strategy.

Order Tracking & Financial Accuracy

• Monitor order confirmations and track goods receipt to enhance transparency.
• Support invoice verification processes to improve financial accuracy and contribute to timely payment cycles.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, including planning, logistics, and finance, to ensure seamless supply chain execution.

Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement

• Drive issue resolution by identifying and addressing deviations related to cost, quality, delivery and specifications.
• Engage in structured communication and collaboration with suppliers to ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Minimize operational risks and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Background in commercial or technical fields with purchasing experience.
• 5+ years of experience in operational purchasing or comparable position.
• Good understanding of procurement principles and best practices.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in MS Office and SAP, especially SAP MM.
• Proficiency in SAP Ariba.
• Fluent in English; other languages an advantage.
• Reliable and independent team player.
• Detail-focused with a problem-solving mindset.
• Compliance and ethics oriented.
