Role Purpose
Manage legal collections cases, coordinate with external law firms, and provide timely resolution and satisfactory customer experience while maintaining compliance with bank policies, procedures, and central bank regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Coordination
- Coordinate with law firms for new cases assigned to ADGM court and other case types (cheque execution, REPO, civil cases, cases against bank).
- Follow up across different stages of assigned cases and update the system and trackers.
- Ensure updating the system and legal flags of all allocated cases.
- Ensure original files retrieval and returns as per process and policy.
- Handle assigned cases against the bank and extend support whenever required.
Vendor & Law Firm Management
- Monitor assigned law firms and vendors for their respective cases, especially those in Abu Dhabi.
- Liaison with law firms to ensure cases are filed according to agreed turnaround time and share any additional required documents.
Legal Support & Escalations
- Attend expert meetings as required and review commentaries and memos.
- Handle referred requests and escalations related to collections received through various channels.
- Work closely with Collection and Recovery teams for legal support or advisory when applicable.
Backup & Coverage
- Provide backup support for any team member who is absent or on leave, including criminal, civil, legal notice, REPO, and cheque execution matters.
Professional Development & Compliance
- Agree with line manager to define performance goals at the start of the year and ensure achievement throughout the year.
- Identify training and development requirements and agree on them with the reporting manager to ensure required trainings are arranged and attended.
- Strive to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all competencies and skills required to perform the role.
- Keep current on professional developments, new techniques, and current issues through continued education and professional growth.
- Maintain awareness of bank policies and procedures, central bank regulations, and recent developments.
- Attend and timely complete mandatory training.
- Adhere to company policies and values and enforce them without creating negative reactions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the banking sector.
