Role Overview

NDT Technician - Multi Disciplined PCN L2 - TKY at Oceaneering. The role involves performing ultrasonic TKY inspection activities including system setup, calibration, weld inspection, analysis, evaluation, and formal reporting. Work will be performed on structural steel onshore during the fabrication process, including MUT and TKY inspections.

Role Purpose

To perform ultrasonic TKY inspection activities on structural steel during the fabrication process, including creating system setups, performing calibration, conducting weld inspection, analyzing results, evaluating weld quality, and producing formal inspection reports.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection Operations

• Perform ultrasonic inspection using TKY technique.
• Setup equipment prior to inspection as required.
• Make a scan plan and system setup referring to the technique sheet as required.
• Perform system calibration during setup as required.
• Perform system calibration (dynamic) prior to, during, and after inspection as part of daily routine.
• Conduct acceptable data acquisition (data collection) during weld inspection as part of daily routine.
• Read code and acceptance criteria as part of daily routine.

Analysis & Evaluation

• Evaluate and make a decision on weld quality (accept/reject) referring to the code and acceptance criteria as part of daily routine.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare accuracy and completeness of inspection reports using approved report format as part of daily routine.

Equipment & Maintenance

• Maintain all equipment prior to, during, and after work completion as required.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure that safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
• Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
• Perform assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems of the company.
• Eliminate waste of whatever form, suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• PCN Level II – Ultrasonic testing 3.1.3.2.3.8.3.9 TKY (Essential).
• PCN Level II – PAUT (Preferred).
• Minimum 5 years solid experience in Phased Array Inspection in Oil and Gas Industry.
