Role Overview

Medical Scientific Liaison – Oncology at AstraZeneca, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a field-based position responsible for implementing activities that establish scientific leadership for AstraZeneca in the oncology therapy area.

Role Purpose

Provide solutions to improve patients' quality of life through a business-driven approach in the oncology therapy area. Develop and enhance professional relationships with healthcare professionals, build deep scientific understanding of AstraZeneca compounds, and drive positive clinical opinions while delivering medical education and clinical support to medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Education and Communication

• Deliver updated AstraZeneca medical information to healthcare professionals through various communication channels and means.
• Deliver medical education and clinical support to medical professionals.
• Train sales teams on scientific and clinical value of AstraZeneca compounds.

Clinical Studies and Project Management

• Work optimally and efficiently to ensure delivery of clinical studies that meet quality, cost, and time standards.
• Provide monitoring services for ongoing studies to ensure completion from receipt of outline to completion of final study report.
• Effectively plan, conduct, and complete assigned project work, providing timely and appropriate progress reports as required.

Strategy and Brand Development

• Involve in development of brand strategy.
• Review product materials and respond to medical queries.

Team Development and Collaboration

• Participate in training and development of team members through sharing of knowledge and coaching.
• Build interpersonal inclusion through self-awareness, developing curiosity, active listening, and strengthening team and peer inclusion.

Compliance and Safety

• Safeguard patients and AstraZeneca by ensuring adverse event reports are handled according to standards, procedures, and legislation to meet legal, regulatory, professional, and ethical obligations.
• Manage a process for provision of named patient supplies in compliance with legal, regulatory, professional, and ethical obligations.
• Identify, coordinate, and integrate pharmacovigilance systems to comply with regulatory needs and AstraZeneca local and global standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Hematology/Oncology experience required; hematology experience preferred.
• Minimum two years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry required.
• For current or former Commercial employees: average achievement of last two semesters of 100% (S1'2023 + S2'2022) or average of total score of earlier year dashboard and year-to-date dashboard of 100%.
• For Non-Commercial employees: consistent performance track record required.
• For current or former CSLs/MSLs: at least one year of experience in the current therapy area.
