Role Overview
Medical Affairs Manager at SEHA Clinics. This role leads medical governance, clinical strategy, and physician engagement across the organization.
Role Purpose
Oversee medical and clinical governance, physician engagement, and regulatory compliance while driving clinical service development and supporting the CMO in strategic initiatives that maintain clinical excellence and organizational financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Medical and Clinical Governance
- Chair, Co-Chair, or serve as member of medical committees as assigned by the CMO, including but not limited to M&M Committee, Privileging Committee, and Occupational Board Committee.
- Support physician privileging, re-privileging, and expansion of clinical scope of practice.
- Maintain the Privilege Audit Target at 100% with no deficiencies.
- Coordinate with clinical leadership to ensure physicians maintain appropriate privilege competencies.
- Ensure appropriate case review and discussion of clinical findings at the M&M Committee.
- Identify improvement opportunities and formulate recommendations at the M&M Committee.
- Ensure timely follow-up and closure of committee recommendations and action plans.
Physician Engagement and Clinical Communication
- Lead biweekly lead physician meetings to provide updates on key clinical matters, service expansions, regulatory requirements, and clinical special projects.
- Ensure effective cascading of information to frontline physicians.
- Engage and invite relevant internal stakeholders and departments to present key updates and initiatives.
- Facilitate lead physician awareness, alignment, and action on priority matters.
Regulatory and Clinical Special Projects
- Lead and coordinate special projects assigned by the CMO with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure successful implementation of assigned initiatives.
- Ensure clinical readiness and implementation of programs including IFHAS, Well Child Visits, Premarital Screening, Obesity Management, and other priority programs.
Clinical Service Development and Support
- Collaborate with Clinical Leads and Chairs of Departments to identify opportunities for new procedures and service expansion.
- Provide corporate-level support for service development initiatives.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to facilitate implementation.
- Ensure Medical Affairs KPI and Medical Performance metrics are achieved.
- Support the development and monitoring of medical performance metrics.
Operations and Strategic Alignment
- Lead the medical departments.
- Ensure meetings are productive and goals are met.
- Ensure strategies are implemented effectively.
- Ensure patient care and clinical outcomes remain a primary focus.
- Ensure financial sustainability.
- Align financial goals with other members.
- Identify revenue opportunities and cost-saving measures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery.
- Specialist or Consultant level qualification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
