Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC)

Role Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC) with MIRA Construction. The role is based in the United Arab Emirates and involves designing and optimizing mechanical systems for construction projects.

Role Purpose

Design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems and components for various construction projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development

• Develop detailed mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
• Use CAD and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) to prepare layouts and 3D models.
• Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to verify design viability and performance.

Collaboration and Integration

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs with architectural and structural layouts.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to support project execution.

Design Review and Compliance

• Review and revise designs based on project requirements, codes, and client feedback.
• Ensure all designs comply with local regulations and industry standards.

Project Support

• Participate in site visits to monitor installation and resolve design-related issues.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
• Previous experience with a consultant.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in CAD and BIM software including AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
