MECHANIC FOREMAN

Role Overview

Mechanic Foreman at NMDC Group, supporting dredging and marine infrastructure projects through leadership of maintenance, repair, and planned servicing of heavy earthmoving equipment and mobile cranes.

Role Purpose

Lead maintenance operations and technical supervision to ensure maximum fleet availability through structured preventive maintenance execution, hands-on repair oversight, and spare parts coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Preventive Maintenance

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for earthmoving equipment (excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders) and mobile/crawler cranes per OEM intervals.

Corrective Repairs & Technical Supervision

• Supervise corrective repairs including engine overhauls, hydraulic cylinder rebuilds, undercarriage replacement, and crane structural and wire rope inspections.

Team Leadership

• Lead and coordinate a team of technicians; conduct toolbox talks, allocate daily tasks, and enforce PTW/LOTO and PPE compliance.
• Identify technician skills gaps and deliver on-the-job training in hydraulic systems, crane inspection, load chart reading, and earthmoving diagnostics.

Spare Parts & Supply Chain

• Raise Material Requisitions for spare parts and PM kits; expedite critical purchase orders with Procurement to minimise equipment downtime.
• Maintain minimum stock levels for fast-moving items and coordinate parts traceability with the Stores Supervisor.

Reporting & Compliance

• Submit daily equipment status reports and weekly PM compliance reports to the Workshop Superintendent.
• Maintain crane inspection registers and ensure third-party Load Test Certificates are current per UAE statutory and NMDC requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 7 years' maintenance experience on heavy earthmoving equipment and/or mobile cranes.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, undercarriage, and crane structural inspection.
• Ability to read OEM service manuals, hydraulic schematics, and electrical diagrams.
