Role Overview

Master at NMDC Group. The role is based on offshore vessel operations.

Role Purpose

Lead all safety, security, and operational compliance onboard the vessel while maintaining authority over safety and pollution prevention decisions that affect passengers, crew, vessel integrity, and environmental protection.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & HSE Management

• Implement HSE Company policy across all vessel operations.
• Conduct Familiarization & Safety Induction programs for all new joiners.
• Conduct regular HSE meetings.
• Conduct regular inspections & safety meetings onboard as per Company MSMS.
• Review the Marine Safety Management System and report any deficiencies.
• Exercise overriding authority with respect to safety and pollution prevention.
• Exercise authority for action in the interest of the passengers, crew, vessel and the environment.

Compliance & Certification

• Implement the ISPS code onboard the ship as per Company Ship Security Plan.
• Ensure compliance with ISPS & ISM codes and their requirements.
• Ensure the vessel's class and statutory certification is up to date.

Navigation & Operations

• Ensure and implement voyage planning and safety of navigation.
• Issue Master Order and Instructions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Class 1 Master Foreign Going Certificate of Competency II/2 with no limitations (minimum qualification).
• Minimum 3–4 years experience as Master Offshore.
• Minimum experience in towing and anchor handling related to pipe laying operations.
• Minimum experience in handling heavy mooring anchors of 50–70 metric tons gravity block type.
• Minimum experience working in the Arabian Gulf Offshore Oilfield.

Skills & Competencies

• Good English communication skills.
• Good understanding of safe practices related to anchor handling and towing operations.
