MARINE INSPECTOR

Role Overview

Marine Inspector at NMDC Group. This role is responsible for ensuring marine vessels and barges meet operational readiness, compliance, and safety standards across the fleet.

Role Purpose

To plan and execute vessel audits, verify regulatory and contractual compliance, inspect marine equipment and documentation, and drive continuous improvement in marine operations and fleet safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

Audit & Inspection

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate barge audits to optimize operational efficiency while ensuring contractual compliance
• Inspect marine equipment and barge certificates to confirm adherence to industry standards and company policies
• Attend and participate in client inspections onboard, establishing professional relationships with client representatives
• Maintain clear and detailed records of all inspections, audits, and compliance activities

Vessel & Operational Readiness

• Ensure vessels engaged on projects are fully ready and compliant from a marine operations standpoint
• Review operational risks and provide guidance for mitigation measures related to vessel readiness and compliance
• Ensure company HSE and quality objectives are maintained onboard and across the fleet

Compliance & Documentation

• Verify all marine documentation and reporting is accurate, complete, and submitted within required timelines
• Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and lessons learned, ensuring timely closure and prevention of recurrence
• Provide regular reports on compliance performance, trends, and areas for improvement to the Compliance Manager

Training & Stakeholder Management

• Educate and train onboard personnel on maritime regulations, safety procedures, and company standards to ensure high compliance levels

Process Improvement

• Collaborate with departments to implement recommendations from audits and improve marine operations processes
• Support initiatives to improve operational efficiency, standardization, and best practices across all marine units

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Nautical Science or equivalent maritime qualification
• Chief Officer COC (Certificate of Competency)
• Minimum 08 years' experience in oil & gas industry, of which at least 02 years sailing time as Chief Officer
• ADNOC & ARAMCO approvals preferable
