Maintenance Technician 1

Role Overview

Maintenance Technician 1 (Service Technician) at Vanderlande, working at the Jeddah site. Reports to Shift Leader.

Role Purpose

Perform maintenance duties and reactive calls on Material Handling Systems to ensure productivity and output, equipment asset availability, health and safety compliance, quality, and optimized team working in accordance with agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, ATR systems, baggage handling equipment, and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals, and manufacturer specifications using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Prepare and execute service calls, Emergency Maintenance, and Corrective Maintenance.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance and follow-up on Corrective Maintenance work orders.
• Un-jam conveyors and handle errors in the system.
• Independently correct standard faults.

Safety & Compliance

• Exercise safe working practice at all times, complying with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.

Operations & Documentation

• Report service calls.
• Complete CMMS Service Reports, Parts Usage, and Warranty Records.
• Research and request spare parts as required.
• Perform Inventory Counts.
• Attend to manual encoding stations and load correction zones.

Optimization & Improvement

• Advise and execute optimization of (sub) systems, consulting the supervisor, and propose improvements for the quality of the service process.
• Develop service supporting tools and means.
• Identify problems in planning and tooling and provide input for improvements.

Team Support & Development

• Work fully independently on site on preventive maintenance work.
• Help other service technicians to correct faults.
• Instruct and give guidance to less experienced technicians.
