Role Overview
Lifeguard position at wasl (Viya), Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, Recreation Department. Reports to Head of Recreation.

Role Purpose
To perform day-to-day maintenance and servicing of all recreation areas, including pool areas, in order to provide a recreation service to Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club's members and guests that exceeds expectations and maintains the reputation of the Club.
Key Responsibilities
General Operations
- Report for duty in the recreation area as determined by the Recreation Manager.
- Maintain a well-groomed appearance at all times, wearing the complete uniform, including name badge, and maintaining good personal hygiene.
- Greet and welcome all visitors to the recreation areas of the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.
- Cover gym area when necessary.
Health & Safety
- Recognize a hazardous situation and take immediate action.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed to prevent accidents or injury to the Club's members, guests, and fellow workers.
- Report any accident or potential hazards, including maintenance requirements, to the Recreation Manager.
- Deliver basic first aid and arrange further assistance if required for any injuries to pool visitors.
- Perform CPR if needed.
- Attend training courses as determined by Recreation Manager and business needs, including annual fire and health and safety training.
Guest & Member Service
- Solve members' and guests' problems, ensuring mutually agreeable solutions are reached at the earliest convenient time.
- Keep the Recreation Manager and Fitness Professional informed of members' and guests' problems and action taken.
- Promote all services related to recreation and provided in the club to guests and members.
Pool Operations
- Request all pool visitors to sign the guest book on arrival, check the details if appropriate, and document them.
- If not appropriate for non-members, request identification and issue a day pass ticket if not obtained.
- Report any unauthorized use to the Recreation Supervisor or Recreation Manager.
- Clean, distribute, and set up poolside furniture according to members' and guests' needs, clearing all sun bed cushions at the end of the day.
- Assist pool visitors with menus, ensuring refreshments are available in a clean and hygienic manner.
- Distribute towels frequently to meet members' and guests' needs.
- Add chlorine and pool chemicals on a daily basis and test water levels three times per day.
- Record water level readings and file them.
- Check and maintain filtration pumps and valves.
- Vacuum and clean the pools, backwash, wash the pool deck, and clean the skimmers on a daily basis, ensuring that these areas are clean and tidy at all times.
Teamwork & Compliance
- Support and assist colleagues as necessary, thereby contributing to a cohesive working team.
- Follow the Club's policies, procedures, and rules at all times, including the prevention of loss or damage to the Club's property or revenue.
- Be aware of Dubai Golf Mission, Vision, and Values and apply the 4 Service Steps throughout serving internal and external customers.
Additional Duties
- Participate in various extra activities contributing towards individuals and organizational growth in line with the Club's strive for continuous improvement.
- Represent the department or group in various committees such as the Staff Committee.
- Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider.
Information Security
- Read, understand, and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
- Cooperate, coordinate, and share information with Internal and External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
- Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
- Immediately report all Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, and incidents (actual or suspected breaches) to the IT Service Desk.
Qualifications & Experience
- Secondary education or GCE Ordinary level.
- National Pool Life Guard qualification (must be valid). If not available, equivalent qualification from home country acceptable.
- CPR Qualification (mandatory).
- First Aid certificate.
- Previous experience in a similar position for 2 years.

- Good physical fitness and pleasing appearance.
- Fluency in English (mandatory).

- Water treatment knowledge with chemicals.
- Pool water testing knowledge (durable).
