LICENCED AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER CAT B1 OR B2

Role Overview

Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category B1 or B2 at Gulf Air, Technical Division, Bahrain Head Quarter.

Gulf Air is an aviation company with a Technical Division based in Bahrain.

Role Purpose

Perform all routine and non-routine maintenance tasks on current and future fleet aircraft in accordance with approved maintenance schedules and documentation, strictly adhering to authority rules and regulations. Support aircraft recovery operations and maintain company and third-party aircraft to approved standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations

• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on company fleets and third-party aircraft according to BCAA Regulations and Company Requirements.
• Supervise assigned Technicians while performing their duties.
• Certify all work performed.
• Obtain company certification authorization to qualify for certifying routine and non-routine maintenance tasks on company fleets within scope of company approval.
• Obtain required certification authorization to certify work performed on third-party aircraft whenever required.
• Perform duties at short notice and accompany aircraft for routine and non-routine maintenance tasks.
• Perform any task operationally deemed necessary to maintain the fleet in an airworthy condition.
• Adhere and comply with aircraft-approved maintenance documents when performing all maintenance tasks.
• Acquaint self with all safety-related precautions to avoid personal injuries or damages to aircraft structures and systems.

Tool and Equipment Management

• Ensure proper tools and equipment used for aircraft maintenance are in serviceable and safe condition at all times.
• Report any faulty tool or equipment to the Duty Manager.
• Ensure unserviceable tools and equipment are identified, isolated, and tagged with an unserviceable tag.
• Register all tools used to ensure removal on task completion.
• Check all tools including mechanic tool boxes contents before and after each task carried out on aircraft.
• Sign CRS only when all tools are accounted for.

Training and Development

• Attend training as per company requirements.
• Sit company technical boards for obtaining Aircraft Type Certification.
• Maintain self read and write continuation training.
• Complete specialized training as operationally required, including borescope on company fleet engines, structure assessment and repair, and others.

Safety and Compliance

• Strictly adhere to company staff and safety rules and regulations.
• Adhere to airside safety rules and regulations regarding driving and work areas.
• Adhere to Company policy and procedures as laid down in Technical Publications including TIM and MOE.
• Maintain a high level of self-discipline and respect towards superiors' instructions.

Support and Representation

• Travel when required for aircraft recovery during AOG situations.
• Perform technical representation at facilities outside home base whenever required by the company.
• Deputise for the Duty Manager during absence on vacation, sickness, or training whenever operationally necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 7 years experience in aviation maintenance.
• Minimum 3-5 years as fully qualified certifying engineer.
• Valid AME license recognized by BCAA and Gulf Air QA.
• Type rating endorsement on two of company aircraft.
• Completed recognized aircraft engineers apprenticeship or formal training.

Skills & Competencies

• Computer literate.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
