Role Overview

German International School Abu Dhabi seeks a Geography teacher for Secondary I and II (full-time on-site position, second subject flexible) beginning August 1, 2026.

The school enrolls up to eight Emirati children per year cohort through an integration program beginning in kindergarten.

Role Purpose

Deliver geography instruction in English to Secondary I and II students with academic rigor and motivational engagement, prepare students for upper-secondary requirements and Abitur examination, and contribute to the school's curriculum development and instructional innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction

• Deliver geography instruction in Secondary I and II taught entirely in English, with subject-specific terminology at upper-secondary level suitable for Abitur examination.
• Prepare and support students through upper-secondary performance assessments and examination formats.
• Employ modern teaching methods and digital tools in instruction.

Curriculum & Development

• Contribute to the development of curriculum, instructional materials, and school-wide teaching agreements.

Community & Engagement

• Participate actively in school life, including projects, excursions, and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Teaching certification with second state examination for Geography (Secondary I and II) or equivalent recognized qualification.
• Very secure English proficiency for subject instruction at Secondary II level (C1 recommended minimum).
