German International School Abu Dhabi seeks a full-time Chemistry teacher for Secondary Levels I and II (local hire; second teaching subject flexible) starting 01.08.2026.

For several years, the school has enrolled up to eight Emirati children per year cohort through an integration program beginning in kindergarten.

Role Purpose

Deliver expert chemistry instruction at secondary levels I and II that motivates students and strategically prepares them for upper secondary requirements and the Abitur, using modern methods and sustainable learning approaches.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Assessment

• Deliver pedagogically sound chemistry instruction across Secondary Levels I and II with targeted Abitur preparation.
• Prepare and supervise performance assessments, experimental practicums, and upper secondary examination formats.
• Design and deliver modern teaching methods, digital media, and contemporary laboratory work to foster sustainable learning success.

Curriculum & Materials Development

• Contribute to curriculum development, instructional materials, and school-wide subject agreements in chemistry.

School Community Engagement

• Participate actively in school life through projects, competitions, field trips, and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Teaching certification with second state examination in Chemistry (Secondary Levels I and II) or equivalent recognized qualification.
