Lead Technical Inspector (Quality Assurance)

Role Overview

Lead Technical Inspector (Quality Assurance) at V2X, physically located in Kuwait. This position reports to the Project Manager and performs Field and Sustainment-Level inspections of equipment and process outputs in support of the LOGCAP V Contract.

Role Purpose

Serve as the lead technical authority for quality assurance and inspection operations. Perform initial, in-process, verification, and final inspections of equipment and process outputs. Provide technical guidance and supervision to subordinates while ensuring all work meets applicable Army Regulations, Technical Manuals, and Industry Standards.

Key Responsibilities

Inspections & Quality Assurance

• Perform initial, in-progress, and final inspections in accordance with applicable Army Regulations, Technical Manuals, and Industry Standards.
• Perform estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD), Actual Cost of Damage (ACOD), Estimated Costs of Fabrications (ECOF), and Estimated Cost of Repair (ECOR) inspections.
• Verify condition codes on all inspected equipment and materials.
• Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) functions.

Technical Planning & Documentation

• Read blueprints, sketches, and modification orders to plan processes and layouts in an expeditious, economical, and effective manner.
• Input all deficiencies and shortcomings as well as parts needed in GCSS-Army.
• Complete and review work order documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare necessary paperwork showing labor and supplies used for job orders.
• Interpret technical references.

Materials & Resources

• Determine type and quantity of material required to perform repair or fabrication in accordance with customer work requests.
• Order material as needed.
• Conduct research for manuals and parts.

Leadership & Supervision

• Provide technical guidance and supervision to subordinates.
• Assist in coaching subordinates to ensure compliance with all current Internal Operating Procedures (IOP) and quality regulations.
• Work across all shop functional requirements and provide assistance and coverage whenever needed.

Safety & Compliance

• Observe all current Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) and fire regulations.
• Ensure a safe work area by confirming employees utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), warning devices, and proper vehicle and equipment placement.
• Comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.

Operations & Tools

• Use proper Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) in daily operations.
• Perform other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must provide a copy.
• Formal training consisting of completion of MOS 91C, D, J, or L course conducted under the auspices of the USA Ordinance School is mandatory, or meet verifiable civilian acquired skills criteria.
• One year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education if a degree is required.
• Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Experience

• Minimum of 8–10 years of experience performing technical inspection of tactical military equipment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in supervisory leadership.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technician, or a combination of formal training and experience totaling equivalent qualification.

Driver Licensing

• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
• Ability to obtain a host nation Driver's License and Kuwait Heavy Duty Driver's License.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Expert knowledge in welding and repair requirements for military equipment using ferrous and nonferrous metals.
• Expert knowledge of oxyacetylene, electric arc, and inert gas welding equipment.
• Expert knowledge of Field Level Maintenance Metal Worker tasks.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and documents.
• Ability to obtain GCSS-Army access.

Additional Information

Physical Requirements

• Light work involving exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and work in areas with potential exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
• Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations, including head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

Working Conditions

• Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions, including hot, dry, dusty desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees Fahrenheit in winter and 130 degrees Fahrenheit in summer months.
• May include industrial production environment conditions.
