LEAD COMMISSIONING ENGINEER

Role Overview

Lead Commissioning Engineer at NMDC Group. This role leads the discipline commissioning team through all phases of commissioning, ensuring tasks are implemented according to work standards and procedures.

Role Purpose

Ensure proper implementation of assigned commissioning tasks while leading the discipline team, providing technical guidance, directing daily activities, and maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards throughout the commissioning phase.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead the entire discipline commissioning team through all commissioning phases.
• Guide technical issues escalated by several engineers under your responsibility.
• Lead a team to undertake commissioning activities in small projects.
• Direct the daily activities related to discipline SAT and functional testing.

Technical Support & Problem Resolution

• Provide technical support and problem resolution on different control and safety systems.
• Identify any design failures or discrepancies and report lessons learned via line management for future projects.

Quality & Compliance

• Interact with QA/QC to ensure compliance with company quality procedures.
• Coordinate internal and client audit requests.
• Ensure compliance in accordance with HSE Standard.

Project Documentation & Planning

• Receive project documentation and understand Scope of Work related to the discipline.
• Prepare method statements, procedures and routines where required.
• Assist during database preparation for pre-commissioning status index and commissioning technical database.

Testing & Implementation

• Implement and test subsystems as per project commissioning test sheets.
• Perform inter-discipline checks.

Coordination & Integration

• Interface with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities.
• Interface towards Pre-commissioning and Company personnel.
• Plan, monitor and assist in Vendor activities as required.
• Ensure temporary supplies and commissioning spares are adequate for subsystem testing.

Reporting & Communication

• Report to Commissioning Team Leader as per project Organization chart.
• Report on work progress, bringing to notice potential problems or delays and recommend solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Instrument Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years' relevant experience within the oil and gas industry.
• At least 4 years in a key role in Commissioning.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong engineering background in instrument field devices and control systems.
• Understanding of all commissioning phases.
