LEAD COMMISSIONING ENGINEER

Role Overview

Lead Commissioning Engineer at NMDC Group. This role ensures that commissioning tasks are properly implemented according to work standards and procedures.

Role Purpose

Lead and oversee all commissioning activities for electrical systems and equipment, directing technical teams through systematic testing phases, managing stakeholder coordination, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead a team of technicians to undertake commissioning activities in projects.
• Guide technical issues escalated to several electrical engineers and supervisors under your responsibility.
• Direct the daily activities related to discipline SAT, energization and functional testing.

Technical Execution & Testing

• Undertake functional and operational tests for various systems.
• Provide technical support and problem-solving on different equipment.
• Perform inter-discipline checks.
• Prepare method statements, procedures and routines where required.

Quality & Compliance

• Interact with QA/QC to ensure compliance with company quality procedures.
• Coordinate internal and client audit requests.
• Ensure compliance in accordance with HSE Standard.
• Ensure all testing documents are available to the testing team.

Issue Resolution & Corrective Action

• Analyze technical issues to initiate appropriate corrective action and report to direct line management.
• Coordinate with field engineering on any corrective action required on documents.
• Identify any design failures or discrepancies that may be lessons learned for future projects and report via line management.

Planning & Coordination

• Receive and understand project documentation and Scope of Work related to Electrical discipline.
• Interface with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities.
• Plan, monitor and assist in vendor activities as required.
• Ensure temporary supplies and commissioning spares are adequate for subsystem testing.
• Assist during database preparation for pre-commissioning status index and commissioning technical database for Electrical Systems.

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

• Interface with client as required and attend internal project meetings.
• Ensure progress of commissioning discipline in accordance with schedule.
• Report on work progress, bringing to notice potential problems or delays and recommending solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience within the oil and gas industry.
• At least 4 years in a key role in Commissioning.
