Role Overview

Laboratory Registrar (Clinical Pathology) at Nahdi, responsible for overall supervision and administration of the laboratory, maintaining guide and safety standards.

Role Purpose

Oversee all laboratory operations, ensure quality control and safety compliance, supervise staff, manage inventory and budgets, and maintain emergency communication protocols for high-risk results.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Testing

• Review quality control of all laboratory procedures conducted in the laboratory.
• Revise and sign off on laboratory tests, providing comments and recommendations for further investigations for patients in need.
• Supervise high complexity tests while performed by personnel.

Maintenance & Safety

• Follow up on daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of all laboratory equipment and facilities.
• Check perfect implementation of physical, chemical, and biological safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure physical and environmental health conditions of the laboratory.

Inventory & Procurement

• Check laboratory inventory levels.
• Make purchasing orders to different companies.
• Follow delivery of all laboratory requirements.

Budget & Administration

• Prepare unit budgets, accountability reports, operating plans, and business plans.
• Interact with various administrative and medical personnel regarding inter-functional aspects including supplies, equipment, in-service training, and cost analysis activities.

Stakeholder Communication

• Consult with other physicians in all clinics and emergency room by phone to report high-risk laboratory results for emergency actions.

Staff Management & Training

• Supervise and provide training programs and continuous medical education for all laboratory staff.
• Conduct annual personnel performance evaluation and documentation.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Implement proficiency testing program and take corrective actions when needed.
• Ensure resolution mechanism for any complaint against the laboratory from staff, public, or clients.

Additional Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned by manager based on business need.

Qualifications & Experience

• MD degree in Applied Medical Science (laboratory section).
• Registration with Saudi Commission for Health Specialists.
• 2 years of practical experience following graduation.

Skills & Competencies

• Office and Health Information Systems.
• English and Arabic (fluent speaking and writing).

Additional Information

• Work Environment: 100% indoors.
• Working Days: 6 days per week with 1 day off.
• Working Hours: 8 net working hours according to shift schedule approved by head of department.
