Role Overview
Kitchen Supervisor at Apparel Group. This operational role involves supervising team member activities during shift to ensure standards around people, product, cleanliness, and Exceptional Guest Experience are fulfilled.
Role Purpose
Oversee all shift operations, lead team members by example, maintain service and operational standards, ensure guest satisfaction, and enforce health, safety, and compliance protocols.
Key Responsibilities
People Management
- Lead by example and demonstrate respect for every team member and guest.
- React immediately to issues requiring attention during shift.
- Provide ongoing, specific direction to team members.
- Encourage an exciting and fun work environment while motivating team members to meet goals.
- Train, orientate, and monitor new team members.
- Report to Store Manager on team member performance (positive or negative).
- Assist in ensuring optimal team member coverage at all times.
- Work various positions during busy periods to maintain optimal service levels through demonstrated floor leadership.
Hospitality Management
- Lead by example to demonstrate that the guest is top priority.
- Reinforce positive hospitality behaviors with team members.
- Respond to guests in a friendly manner while maintaining an appropriate sense of urgency.
- Respond to guest service complaints in a timely manner, resolving problems and turning potentially negative situations into positive situations.
Operations Management
- Comply with and enforce all Tim Hortons operating standards.
- Ensure that all product and packaging is properly merchandised and stocked.
- Handle shift cash procedures.
- Maintain operational efficiency through use of the work schedule.
- Supervise team members to ensure primary and secondary duties are completed.
- Ensure all store policies are followed during shift (cash policies, meal and break policies, food safety policies).
- Keep current on all new information (new products launched, promos and discount schemes).
- Assist the Store Manager in driving sales and transactions during shift.
- Complete all required shift documentation (records waste, manager walk-through, store checklist).
- Escalate to immediate superior any issues or problems.
Health & Safety
- Know, understand, and follow safe work practices and procedures.
- Use or wear personal protective equipment or clothing as required.
- Report all injuries, illness, accidents, unsafe conditions, security incidents, and any contravention of health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures to the Store Manager or Area Manager.
- Operate equipment, machines, devices, and work in a manner that does not endanger anyone.
- Ensure health and safety policies are followed during shift including documentation and reporting of any work-related injuries or accidents.
Cashiering
- Supervise and ensure that technical equipment in the stores is in working condition.
- Count money in the cash till at the beginning of shifts to ensure the amount is correct and there is adequate change.
- Receive payment by cash, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits whenever required.
- Issue receipts, refunds, or change to customers correctly whenever required.
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
