Junior Interior Engineer

Role Overview

Junior Interior Engineer at Sunreef Yachts. This role supports the design, technical development, production, and installation of interior systems and furnishings for luxury yachts.

Role Purpose

Support the design, technical development, production, and installation of interior systems and furnishings for luxury yachts, working under the guidance of senior engineers through the complete process from design development through workshop production and on-board installation.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Development

• Assist in developing 3D models and 2D technical drawings for interior furniture and accessories.
• Prepare and update technical drawings, specifications, and other documentation under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Support the preparation of technical documentation for workshop furniture production.
• Identify opportunities for improvements in interior design solutions, materials, and production methods.

Production & Installation

• Assist with monitoring workshop production and ensure that work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Support the assembly and installation of interior furniture on board luxury yachts.
• Assist senior engineers in resolving technical and production-related issues.

Coordination & Collaboration

• Participate in design reviews and coordination with engineering, production, purchasing, and design teams.
• Manage assigned tasks and provide regular updates on progress and completion.

Materials & Procurement

• Assist with purchasing activities and stock management related to interior outfitting components and materials.

Professional Development

• Continuously develop technical knowledge and understanding of yacht interior construction and outfitting.

Qualifications & Experience

• Basic professional or educational experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Basic understanding of technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Basic understanding of furniture construction, materials, or manufacturing processes is an advantage.
• Previous experience in the furniture or woodworking industry is a plus.
• Previous experience in marine or yacht interior outfitting is a plus.

• Knowledge of SolidWorks and technical drawing standards is a plus.
