Job description

Role Overview

Junior Business Development Manager at IOTA GROUP, based in Dubai, covering the Gulf and wider regional markets.

Company Overview

IOTA GROUP is a Swiss-headquartered provider of technical assistance and workforce solutions, operating in more than 70 countries across the energy, oil and gas, nuclear, defence, mining and industrial sectors. The Dubai office serves the Gulf and wider regional markets.

Role Purpose

Build and develop a client portfolio across the region by identifying prospects, qualifying opportunities, and proposing tailored workforce and technical assistance solutions to decision-makers in target sectors. This is a hands-on commercial role offering direct territory ownership rather than a support function.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Pipeline

  • Identify and qualify prospects across target sectors, and build a pipeline from research, referrals, industry events and direct outreach
  • Approach decision-makers by phone, email and in person, including project directors, site and construction managers, procurement, HR and talent acquisition professionals
  • Attend industry events and conferences in the region, and represent the company on client sites
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and activity records in the CRM

Proposal & Commercial Support

  • Understand a client's operational situation well enough to propose the right service: recruitment and sourcing, employer of record, payroll, mobility and immigration support, or full project workforce solutions
  • Prepare commercial proposals, rate build-ups and tender responses in coordination with operations and finance
  • Support vendor registration and prequalification processes with major operators, EPC contractors and their subcontractors

Client Relationship Management

  • Manage client relationships through delivery, working alongside operations, HR and recruitment teams

Qualifications & Experience

  • 1–3 years in a recruitment, manpower supply, staffing, HR services or employer-of-record business, in a commercial or client-facing capacity; or
  • 1–3 years in industrial sales or business development within oil and gas, energy, nuclear, engineering services, industrial equipment or technical consulting
  • Candidates with a strong technical or engineering background who want to move into a commercial role will also be considered
  • Bachelor's degree

Skills & Competencies

  • Fluent English, written and spoken
  • Genuine comfort with cold outreach and initiating contact with people who are not expecting your call
  • Ability to grasp technical scopes and translate them into staffing requirements
  • Organised, self-directed, and able to work without close supervision
  • Arabic or French in addition to English (advantageous)
  • Understanding of UAE and GCC labour law, visa processes or employment compliance (advantageous)

Additional Information

  • Valid UAE residence visa or eligibility to obtain one (essential)
  • Experience in the GCC market, or a working knowledge of regional business practice (advantageous)
  • Existing network within oil and gas, energy or industrial contracting (advantageous)
  • UAE driving licence (advantageous)
  • Direct ownership of a territory and accounts from an early stage
  • Exposure to major international operators, EPC contractors and specialised industrial clients
  • Structured mentoring from a senior commercial team, with a clear route to a Business Development Manager position
  • Competitive base salary with a performance-based incentive scheme
  • Medical insurance, annual leave and air ticket in accordance with UAE labour law
