IT Support - Enterprise Monitoring (6-Month Contract, Immediate Joiner)

Role Overview

IT Support - Enterprise Monitoring position with GSSTech Group in Abu Dhabi. This is a 6-month contract role (renewable/extendable based on project need) for immediate joiners only.

Role Purpose

Support the installation, configuration and monitoring of all IT applications, systems and databases within a federal/government banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

System Monitoring

• Perform daily system monitoring to verify hardware, server resources, systems and key process integrity.
• Review uptime and confirm completion of scheduled jobs including backups and DR replication.
• Monitor performance and capacity of IT systems, applications and datacenter components.

Backup Operations

• Perform daily backup operations to ensure file systems and data are backed up correctly.
• Create recovery media and recycle media as needed.

Support & Incident Management

• Provide Level-1 support across teams and entities.
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues raised by users and systems.
• Respond to IT, datacenter and DB alerts and hardware malfunctions.
• Track, document and compile incident reports.

Banking Operations

• Conduct core banking end-of-day activities and execute relevant reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or Computer Engineering.
• 0–2 years' experience in a similar Data Centre/IT Support role.
• Prior hands-on experience working with a federal or government entity or client in the UAE, including banks, government departments, LFIs or similar regulated bodies.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Server systems: Rack Mountable, Blade Servers, Converged Systems.
• Storage: SAN, NAS, backup and archive.
• Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, AIX.
• Security equipment: biometric access, CCTV compliance.
• Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, OpenShift.
• Understanding of on-premises and cloud infrastructure architecture.

Core Competencies

• Fluent Arabic speaker (spoken and written).
• Good written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to work flexible hours.

• Contract Duration: 6 months, renewable/extendable based on project need.
• Availability: Immediate joiners only; maximum 1 week notice to join.
