Role Overview

Investment Specialist – MG Investment Advisor at Mashreq, responsible for delivering investment advisory services and managing client portfolios across the bank's commercial segments.

Role Purpose

Provide sound investment advisory guidance, manage and rebalance client portfolios across fixed income and other asset classes, and deliver customized investment solutions that generate client satisfaction and revenue for the bank.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Advisory & Portfolio Management

• Perform investment advisory services as primary mandate.
• Manage and maintain oversight of substantial fixed income portfolios across various commercial segments of the bank.
• Monitor, rebalance and restructure portfolios to generate higher levels of client satisfaction.
• Deliver customized investment solutions to Relationship Managers and directly to clients as requested.
• Work closely with existing client base, with performance measured by portfolio performance and revenue generated to the bank (ROA) through allocated client segments.

Research & Market Analysis

• Produce sound research inputs to help the area efficiently analyze, propose and implement investment solutions for clients across all commercial segments.
• Actively cooperate to create the area's view on all matters related to investments and how to turn them into marketable products.
• Convert macroeconomic research inputs into actual investment recommendations.

Stakeholder Management & Client Retention

• Support Private Banking activity and act effectively to retain clients in case of Relationship Manager departure.

Team Leadership

• Supervise and manage junior staff, acting as a mentor on investment advisory subjects.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in investment advisory, financial markets and economic analysis.
• Skilled and knowledgeable on developments in the banking and asset management industries.

Skills & Competencies

• Clear understanding of macroeconomic research and ability to convert research inputs into actual investments.
• Thorough understanding of products and investment instruments.
• Thorough knowledge of strategic and tactical asset allocation fundamentals.
• Knowledge of risk profiling of clients with reference to choosing the right product for the right investor.
• Knowledge of financial markets, products, financial instruments, correlations and portfolio management theory.
