Job description

Role Overview

Internal Medicine Registrar position at Nahdi Care Clinics, located in Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Provide clinical care in Internal Medicine by diagnosing and treating injuries or illnesses, examining patients, taking medical histories, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and counseling patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment and Care Planning

  • Assess patients and document findings.
  • Design and execute the patient's plan of care.
  • Order and review results of patients' investigations.
  • Prescribe medications for patients.
  • Integrate population factors of heritage, environment, and disease prevalence into a patient's care.
  • Perform additional tasks based on specialty and clinical privileges, within guidelines of the Saudi health council.

Patient Education

  • Educate patients on their health condition, investigations required, treatment options, and medication use.
  • Educate patients on health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare related to their individual cases.

Clinical Governance and Compliance

  • Fulfill obligations related to patient records.
  • Adhere to all Nahdi Care Clinics policies, procedures, bylaws, strategic plan, rules, and regulations.
  • Adhere to the mission, vision, goals, and practice guidelines of Nahdi Care Clinics.
  • Adhere to CBAHI standards of care.
  • Comply with clinical and departmental structure standards, including attendance.
  • Complete fire safety requirements.

Professional Development and Collaboration

  • Actively participate in all Nahdi Care Clinics committees and task forces assigned.
  • Participate in continuous professional development of all junior staff.
  • Develop, participate in, and support an active continuing medical education program for the section, department, or clinic assigned by the chairman, which may include rounds, conferences, lectures, journal clubs, and other educational activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other departments of Nahdi Care Clinics, local agencies, vendors, patients, their families, and other interested parties.

Quality Assurance and Improvement

  • Participate in continuous quality improvement and program evaluation activities.
  • Observe measures to ensure clinical, MOH, and CBAHI quality standards and regulations are met.
  • Maintain an evidence-based orientation.

General Duties

  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management based on business need.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from recognized universities.
  • Master's degree in related specialty from recognized universities OR fellowship with SCFHS approval.

Experience

  • Two years of clinical experience following Master's degree, or eligible to sit the board examination in the specialty.

Licensure

  • Licensed as Registrar in related specialty from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).

Skills & Competencies

  • Office and health information systems proficiency.
  • English fluency (speaking and writing).
  • Arabic fluency (speaking and writing).

Schedule

  • Working days: 6 days per week
  • Days off: 1 day per week
  • Working hours: 8 net working hours according to shift schedule approved by head of department.
