Instrument Technician II

Role Overview

Instrument Technician II (CINT04 - Instrument Fitter, Helper IV) at KBR. The role is responsible for ensuring Instrument assets are reliable and available in order to keep Process Units in operation.

Role Purpose

Lead and supervise instrument maintenance technician teams to ensure preventive maintenance compliance and efficient breakdown maintenance execution on Instrument systems, equipment and facilities. Serve as the focal point for daily Instrument maintenance execution and coordinate all maintenance activities within the designated area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Coordination

• Lead, supervise and coordinate activities of maintenance technician teams focused on compliance with the preventive maintenance plan.
• Lead, supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of Instrument maintenance developed by technicians on all Instrument systems, plant equipment and facilities within the designated area of responsibility.
• Serve as the focal point for daily Instrument maintenance execution plan.

Maintenance Planning & Execution

• Execute monthly and weekly maintenance plans.
• Provide onsite maintenance and repairs on all types of Instruments, including generators, transformers and motors.
• Ensure that maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with standards, specifications, safety procedures, manufacturer's recommendations and contract terms.
• Assist in implementing engineering modifications and enhancements to Instrument equipment by making recommendations to increase suitability and serviceability of Instrument systems.

Monitoring & Reporting

• Conduct frequent site visits to ensure proper execution of work and check on technicians engaged in routine maintenance activities.
• Follow-up on Instrument maintenance work progress and submit regular progress reports to the Instrument foreman with recommendations.
• Keep a record of daily maintenance works against planned maintenance programs and prepare work completion reports, where applicable.
• Control and submit progress reports on a regular basis.

Safety & Compliance

• Demonstrate proactive Safety aptitude and behavior.
• Maintain strong knowledge of standards, procedures and regulations to develop activities with care for Health, Safety and Environmental preservation.

Communication & Collaboration

• Demonstrate strong communication and people skills.
• Command good oral and written English.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 4–6 years' experience in Oil & Gas maintenance.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree.
• Strong technical understanding of maintenance management of Oil & Gas Facilities.
• Proven leadership skills with large organizations.
• Maturity of judgment under pressure and ability to resolve problems.
• Strategic management skills.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of maintaining and repairing Instrument systems.
• Good knowledge in Instrument equipment design, installation and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of maintaining and repairing Mechanical and electro hydraulic systems.
• Well organized and proactive with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to achieve business results working in a multi-cultural environment.

• Flexibility to travel internationally and live in KSA.
