Inspection - QC II

Role Overview

Inspection - QC II at Baker Hughes. This role is based at a Baker Hughes facility and involves performing non-destructive testing inspections and quality control activities to assess defects and ensure product compliance before release to customers.

Role Purpose

Perform non-destructive testing inspections, support assembly and final acceptance inspections on gas turbine and rotating equipment components, and ensure all products meet established inspection criteria and regulatory requirements before delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Non-Destructive Testing & Inspection

• Perform Non-Destructive Testing inspections including Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Red-dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI), and UT Inspection.
• Generate NDT reports documenting inspection results.
• Perform Visual, dimensional and other inspections as per drawing and specification requirements.
• Support Inspection activities including Receiving, PN/SM recording, Visual, dimensional inspection and reporting of inspection data.

Component & Assembly Inspection

• Support Assembly (In-Process) and final acceptance inspections and report inspection data of components as per established inspection criteria.
• Inspect Gas Turbine Components, Rotors, Centrifugal Compressor Rotors and Steam Turbine Rotors.
• Assure that required preliminary, progressive and final inspections are properly performed.
• Ensure proper inspection records, reports and forms are executed prior to releasing product.

Nonconforming Product Management

• Raise NCR and reject Material disposition cases of nonconforming product.
• Coordinate with production personnel for control of nonconforming product.
• Identify, document and segregate nonconforming product in holding area until resolution of non-conformity.
• Perform Inspection and prepare inspection reports for non-conformance product including NCR and Hold tag documentation after inspection.

Quality & Compliance

• Actively participate in Root cause analysis for Identification of Root Cause and CAPA actions.
• Conduct periodic inspection and calibration of all measuring instruments and testing equipment.
• Ensure calibrations are current and conform to all applicable Baker Hughes Standards and regulations.
• Maintain a clean work area and contribute towards overall housekeeping efforts.
• Ensure work area is in compliance with HSE requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with Baker Hughes Policies and Procedures.

Administration & Systems

• Update digital shop systems related to assigned work including Digital Work Order, Time Vouchering and Operation completion.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Engineering or High School Certificate with related experience.
• Five years' experience of Inspection in Gas turbine repair Shop or Service organization.
• ASNT Level II in NDT methods (PT, UT and RT).

Skills & Competencies

• Capable to interpret engineering drawings.
• Understand and use Inspection, measuring and test equipment.
• Self-starter, able to work with limited supervision.
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office.
• Problem solving and Proactive approach mindset.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
