Role Overview

IBM API Connect & DataPower Developer at TAWANTECH. This role focuses on designing, developing, and managing API solutions using IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower Gateway.

Role Purpose

Design, develop, and manage enterprise API solutions using IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower Gateway, with emphasis on API security, performance optimization, and integration across business and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

API Design & Development

• Design, develop, and deploy APIs using IBM API Connect.
• Develop RESTful and SOAP web services.
• Develop and manage API lifecycle from conception to production.

API Infrastructure & Configuration

• Configure and manage IBM DataPower Gateway services.
• Implement API security policies, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.

Performance & Optimization

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize API performance.

Collaboration & Requirements Gathering

• Work closely with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver integration solutions.

Testing, Deployment & Support

• Participate in system testing, deployment, and production support activities.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise integration and security standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM API Connect.
• Strong experience with IBM DataPower Gateway.
• Experience with REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, XML, JSON, and XSLT.
• Knowledge of API security protocols such as OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS, and API Key authentication.
• Experience with API lifecycle management.
• Understanding of integration architecture and middleware concepts.
• Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Enterprise Integration projects (preferred).
• IBM certifications related to API Connect or DataPower (preferred).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments (preferred).
