Role Overview
IB - Research Product Governance - D at Deutsche Bank. The role sits within Deutsche Bank Research, within the globally integrated Business Controls & Supervisory Analyst team.
Company Overview
Deutsche Bank Research publishes a wide range of notes including on equities, economics, currencies, credit, rates, strategy, and a variety of other investment products and thematic topics. Deutsche Bank's Supervisory Analyst team reviews these notes and ensures compliance with regulatory and internal Deutsche Bank policy requirements, as well as facilitates the publication and clearance of these notes. Deutsche Bank is the leading German bank with strong European roots and a global network.
Role Purpose
To review written research in accordance with FINRA rules (especially Rule 2210) regarding written communication with the public, balance risk management with commerciality, oversee product governance of the global Research product, and introduce Artificial Intelligence in the product governance process.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Evaluate reports and make independent business decisions to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and in-house policies.
- Monitor workflow and prioritize documents for review.
- Keep up to date with regulatory changes.
- Maintain a firm grasp of regulatory requirements and how to implement them in research and explain them to analysts.
Product Governance & Oversight
- Oversee the product governance framework globally for Research.
- Work closely with multiple stakeholders including Research Analysts and Management, Business Management, Control Functions and other divisions relating to the day-to-day functioning of the business.
- Work closely with control room, compliance and legal in identifying potential business conflicts in published research.
Product Transformation & AI Integration
- Introduce Artificial Intelligence in the product governance process to enhance the quality of the final product and minimise the lead time to get research published.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and compliant use of data and AI outputs.
Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate effectively with research analysts and product management team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 3+ years working as a supervisory analyst with Series 16 qualification.
- Research analyst/associate experience and/or previous experience working in a Business Controls role is a plus.
- Series S4 a bonus.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong written and oral communications and interpersonal skills at native English speaker level.
- Firm grasp of regulatory requirements: how to implement them in research and explain them to analysts.
- Team player with the ability to prioritize in a high pressure environment.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle several tasks simultaneously.
- Sound and balanced judgment and the confidence to implement changes where necessary.
- Flexible to adapting to changing business needs.
- Comfortably multi-task on various IT platforms.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and compliant use of data and AI outputs.
