HSSE OFFICER

Role Overview

HSSE Officer at Napco National.

Role Purpose

Maintain a safe, healthy, and hygienic working environment across all company premises through regular inspection, monitoring, incident response, and implementation of occupational health and safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Inspections & Monitoring

• Conduct periodical safety rounds across the entire company premises.
• Ensure plant and warehouse safety and hygienic conditions are maintained.
• Report deviations from safety standards.
• Check safe operation and condition of machinery across the production area.
• Monitor the condition of drainages and canals and ensure protection against infestation through pest control spray activities in coordination with department heads.
• Monitor the facility roof top, walls, light shadows, and electrical panels.
• Conduct operational risk assessments on site.
• Maintain necessary documents recording daily, weekly, and monthly HSE inspection activities.

Personal Protective Equipment & Compliance

• Ensure plant-related employees wear appropriate overalls, clothing, and personal protective equipment.
• Ensure the clear pathway to fire extinguishers and hose cabinets across the company.
• Ensure availability and maintenance of first-aid equipment and accessories.

Fire Safety & Prevention

• Ensure perfect condition of fire-fighting equipment through periodical maintenance and refilling.
• Take fire preventive measures on a needs basis, especially during summer.
• Respond immediately to fires and other emergency situations.

Hazard & Incident Management

• Monitor hot works and ensure they are carried out with due permission and safe conditions across the plant, including work by maintenance, contractors, and third parties.
• Investigate and report all serious and critical personal injury accidents occurring to staff, visitors, or contractors.
• Investigate accidents and incidents resulting in substantial damage to company properties.
• Respond to employee safety concerns.
• Provide first aid activities when required in case of accident.
• Coordinate registration and removal of hazardous waste.
• Design risk mitigation measures.

Training & Awareness

• Conduct safety and first-aid on-the-job training for new recruits when required.
• Coordinate training of personnel in safety testing, including first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, workplace inspections, and other matters related to implementing safety procedures in facilities.
• Increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization.
• Participate in evacuation drills.

Policy & Reporting

• Follow up on implementation of occupational health and safety policies, programs, and procedures.
• Generate and maintain all required reports related to the HSE management system, including corrective action and preventive measures.
• Provide HSE improvement proposals stating the non-conformance, proposed corrective action, required resources, and plan of implementation.

Coordination & Support

• Coordinate with security guards regarding visitor movements and track entry and exit to company premises.
• Assist executive staff, senior administrators, principals, supervisors, and HSE team leader in emergency situations.
