Role Overview
HR Generalist at NOV. This role works closely with local business unit management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Role Purpose
Support HR operations and employee engagement across the organization by managing onboarding, employee relations, communications, and administrative HR functions to create a positive workplace culture and enhance employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Engagement & Relations
- Communicate effectively with employees at all levels to promote engagement initiatives and gather insights.
- Organize company events, recognition programs, and team-building activities that promote a positive work environment.
- Handle employee relations issues by providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
- Facilitate conflict resolution between parties.
Onboarding & New Hire Integration
- Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all necessary paperwork and documentation are completed and filed appropriately.
- Develop and deliver orientation programs that introduce new employees to the company culture, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires during their onboarding period.
- Conduct follow-up meetings with new employees to gather feedback and ensure successful integration into the team.
- Continuously improve onboarding processes based on feedback and best practices to enhance the new hire experience.
HR Administration & Records Management
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS and E-Files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Assist in benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
- Prepare HR-related reports and documents as required.
- Provide general support to HR functions and newly assigned projects as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3β5 years of experience in an HR support or administrative role.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas/Energy sector (Preferred).
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP is a plus but not required.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
