HOP Team Leader

Role Overview

HOP Site Team Leader at Deliveroo, Dubai. You will support Site Management in achieving peak performance at a rapid grocery delivery site, maximizing customer satisfaction, optimizing productivity, maintaining stock accuracy, and minimizing wastage.

Deliveroo HOP is a speedy grocery delivery service launched in September 2021, operating across London, the UK, and international markets including the UAE. The service delivers groceries to customers in as little as 10 minutes, partnering with trusted grocers and utilizing Deliveroo's 100,000-strong rider network for final-mile delivery. Deliveroo is now part of DoorDash, collaborating globally with teams across DoorDash and Wolt.

Role Purpose

To lead shift operations at a HOP delivery site with hands-on involvement, ensuring operational excellence through efficient order fulfillment, team supervision, compliance with standard operating procedures, inventory management, and the maintenance of a safe, clean, and well-organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead your respective team and work closely with site management to achieve all company objectives and goals, prioritizing tasks and activities on shift while remaining hands-on.
• Demonstrated leadership and experience training other associates.
• Supervise accurate timekeeping, ensuring team members appropriately record their shifts, take breaks as per policy, and adhere to working time directive requirements.
• Contribute to a positive and cooperative working environment for all colleagues.

Order Fulfillment & Quality Assurance

• Supervise that all orders are picked efficiently and accurately, meeting time targets.
• Oversee adherence to packaging SLAs and quality assurance of each order to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Effectively operate and oversee the dispatch order, ensuring accurate handling of orders to riders and minimizing mistakes.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with Deliveroo riders.

Compliance & Safety

• Supervise compliance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs) through robust supervision and impactful coaching.
• Ensure all tasks completed and delegated are done in a safe, legal, and compliant manner.
• Complete health and safety checks and ensure that employees diligently adhere to company policies and procedures throughout their shifts.

Inventory & Stock Management

• Ensure all deliveries are handled in line with company expectations and policies, driving adherence to temperature regulations.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and stock rotation accordingly.
• Complete stock counts as per company policy with a keen eye for inventory management.
• Ensure stock is replenished in an efficient and organized way.
• Complete the claims process daily where appropriate.

Site Standards & Environment

• Drive strong standards within your site, adhering to merchandising and space management principles.
• Deliver a clean, tidy, organized site environment.
• Maintain good relations to uphold Deliveroo's positive reputation with all external parties, including neighbours, landlords, and contractors.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with Site Management teams with the ability to communicate professionally and openly with other stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in a similar environment (FMCG, retail, warehouse, last mile) is preferred but not essential.
• Proven track record of consistently hitting KPI targets such as pick times.
• Track record of attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
• Ability to run shifts independently.
• Right to work in the UAE.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong hands-on mentality and detail-oriented approach.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and strong proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• Leadership experience with the ability to train and supervise other team members.
