Role Purpose
To maximize company product value through high-quality scientific communication with Leading Specialists on a peer-to-peer basis. To serve as a therapeutic area scientific expert and trusted scientific counterpart, responsible for discussing company products, patient treatment trends, and clinical studies with defined audiences including physicians, pharmacists, hospital managers, and scientific society leaders. To jointly support the realization of short-term and long-term company goals through activities aligned with the Medical Affairs Plan.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific Knowledge & Expertise
- Keep abreast of medical and scientific knowledge in hematology.
- Continuously update knowledge of products, patient treatment trends, and clinical activities and studies conducted within the therapeutic area in the region.
- Serve as a therapeutic area scientific expert on a peer-to-peer basis with Leading Specialists.
Stakeholder Engagement & Network Development
- Develop and maintain a contact network with Leading Specialists.
- Understand Leading Specialists' needs, key value drivers, practical treatment patterns, and scientific activities within the therapeutic area.
- Communicate the value of company products, including participation in formulary discussions.
- Champion medical benefits of products and contribute to fostering innovative approaches through scientific interactions.
- Represent the company within therapeutic area professional associations in cooperation with Medical Advisor or Medical Lead.
Scientific Communication & Education
- Communicate directly and proactively scientific information on company products within the approved label.
- Communicate non-promotional general information about the company, including description of research and development programs.
- Respond to unsolicited scientific queries from customers for approved products and products or indications in development, based on Medical Affairs and Medical Information documents.
- Identify, support, and educate speakers for medical education activities.
- Build Medical Education programs with scientific third parties.
- Provide medical and product training and scientific support to Sales Representatives in coordination with Training Department as appropriate.
- Act as a reference point to Sales Representatives for any scientific query, in collaboration with Medical Information as appropriate.
Advisory Boards & Clinical Studies
- Organize and participate in Advisory Boards in cooperation with Medical Lead.
- Support Medical Affairs study execution and setup and follow-up of registries and other non-interventional Medical Affairs studies.
- Propose investigators and sites for interventional and non-interventional Medical Affairs studies.
- Participate in investigator meetings preparation, recruitment follow-up, and study result presentation.
- Receive investigator proposals for IIS (Investigator Initiated Studies) and ensure they are discussed within the Medical Affairs department for decision.
Strategic Insights & Business Support
- Gain valuable insight into treatment patterns and scientific activities in the therapeutic area through scientific interactions.
- Provide input to the company Medical Affairs Plan and business decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Pharmacist or Physician.
- Experience as Medical Science Liaison in a mid-to-large pharmaceutical organization required.
- Experience in Hematology therapy area mandatory, preferably in Multiple Myeloma and CAR-T.
